Boogie Boarder Found Dead Near Shore In Rancho Palos Verdes

The cause of death is unknown and the autopsy is still pending, officials said.

PALOS VERDES, CA – A Monterey Park man who had been swimming in Rancho Palos Verdes was found dead early Tuesday morning by sheriff's deputies along the rocky shoreline near Terranea Resort, Daily Breeze reported.

Young Chung Liu, 47, was pronounced dead at 12:50 a.m. south of Pelican Cove near the 31300 block of Palos Verdes Drive South. The cause of death is unknown and the autopsy is still pending, officials said.

“According to his wife, she said he maybe had gone boogie boarding,” coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter told Daily Breeze. “Sheriff’s (deputies) found him unresponsive on the rocks.”
