Crews Search For Missing Woman In Ocean Off San Pedro

Officers found items belonging to the 26-year-old near a trail where she was last seen.

PALOS VERDES, CA – Authorities searched the ocean waters off San Pedro for a 26-year-old missing woman who was last seen last weekend. Haley Ora Downen was last seen about 5:15 p.m. Saturday on a shoreline trail between Royal Palms beach and the Trump National Golf Course near San Pedro. Officers searched that area and found personal property belonging to Haley Ora Downen, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

Several boats, including one marked Los Angeles Fire Department, could be seen Tuesday afternoon searching the water near the coastline, according to ABC7, which reported that a police dive team was part of the search and a group of family members and friends and other volunteers mounted a search for Downen Monday night.

Downen's grandmother told the station the woman was with her boyfriend around the time she was last seen.

Downen is described as white, 5 feet, 2 inches tall, about 135 pounds with blond hair and green eyes. She has a tattoo on her left leg.

LAPD Harbor Station detectives asked anyone with any information regarding Downen's whereabouts to call them at (310) 726-7700.
