The “Pageant of Our Lord” will be presented 21 times from March 15 to March 30, 2013, including two presentations of a children’s version, entitled, “The Story of Jesus in Living Art,” and a Mandarin version of the Pageant for the Chinese Community.
Since its inception, Rolling Hills Covenant Church's production of the "Pageant of Our Lord" has delighted more than 250,000 people with a unique presentation of the life of Jesus Christ through "living" reproductions of famous works of art. Now in its 28th year, this inspiring production, with its roots in Laguna Beach's Pageant of the Masters, features ordinary people placed into life-sized re-creations of famous paintings and sculptures portraying the life of Christ. A cast and crew of more than 400 volunteers produce this theatrical experience.
Accompanied by a musical score presented by the Rolling Hills Covenant Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra, and narration to provide historical insight into the artwork, the Pageant has been described as "a technical masterpiece that blends art with music; a jaw-dropping presentation of the Gospel."
