The lighthouse is open to the public the second Saturday of the month, except for March when it is open the first Saturday in conjunction with "Whale of a Day" festivities.
The cylindrical-style Point Vicente Lighthouse was built in 1926. The nearby cottages, also constructed in 1926, provided housing for the Keeper, Assistant Keeper and their families. The original Fresnel lens is still used to aid navigation.
Besides the lighthouse, the Point Vicente Interpretive Center house exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the area.
