This 60 piece symphonic band is under the direction of David Stanton and consists of local musicians who bring the best in concert band music to the South Bay community. This concert is entitled “Patriotic Picnic” and will include the music of John Philip Sousa, John Williams, George M. Cohan, Sammy Nestico, Charles Ives, and Morton Gould. Also included will be an encore performance of the selection “Amuse Bouche” by internationally recognized composer Dr. Carolyn Bremer of Cal. State U. Long Beach, commissioned by the band in commemoration of its 50th anniversary.
Tickets are only $7 each, with free admission for children 12 years of age and under, and are available at the Botanic Garden just prior to concert time.
The band invites you to bring a blanket or comfortable chair for outdoor lawn seating at the outdoors on the meadow site, and a picnic supper if you wish.
