Horse, Rider Rescued from Portuguese Bend Reserve

The horse was stuck in dense brush in the reserve and firefighters had cut the brush to free the animal.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA - A horse and its rider had to be rescued Tuesday afternoon after becoming stuck behind dense brush in a ravine in the Portuguese Bend Reserve, fire officials said.

The call came in at around 3:15 p.m. and the rider told officers she and the horse was uninjured but was stuck in dense brush in the 100 block of Park Place in Rancho Palos Verdes, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Firefighters had to cut away the brush to free the animal and both the horse and rider were able to walk out of the reserve, officials said.
