LA Flood Watch: Where To Find Sandbags In Palos Verdes
As the latest atmospheric river moves in on SoCal, officials warned Palos Verdes residents about the likely event of heavy flooding.
PALOS VERDES, CA — As the latest atmospheric river moves in on Southern California, officials warned residents of the Palos Verdes Peninsula about the likely event of heavy flooding.
City officials said those living in low-lying areas should prepare accordingly due to the area being prone to flooding. Palos Verdes residents were encouraged to prepare sandbags.
"A powerful storm will bring widespread moderate to heavy rain to the region through early Wednesday, possibly resulting in flooding and gusty winds at times," the National Weather Service said.

Sandbags are available to Palos Verdes residents at the following locations:
- Palos Verdes Estates Police Department
- Palos Verdes Estates Fire Station 2
- Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall
- Rancho Palos Verdes Fire Station 53
- Rolling Hills Fire Station 56
- Rolling Hills Estates Fire Station 106
- Ernie Howlett Park - Maintenance Facility
Residents are required to bring their IDs and can pick up a maximum of 10 bags. Those collecting sand were also urged to bring their own shovel or tools. Collecting sand from the beach is illegal.
