Local Students Won the Highest Award in VEX Robotics World Championship

Team 7700B with 10 middle school students who are Rolling Robots Competition Team members has won the Excellence Award at 2015 Vex Robotics World Championship Middle School Division which took place on April 15-18 in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Excellence Award - the highest honor at the season finale event of world largest educational competitive robotics program - was presented to Team 7700B at VEXWorlds 2015 on April 18th. 150 top middle school teams from 27 countries participated (with 90 top teams from United States) in VEXWorlds this year. Team 7700B also earned silver medal in Programming Skills in the VEXWorlds.

Team 7700B started working on the robot since last May at Rolling Robots’ After-school Program. The team spent many hours of designing, reviewing, building, and programming the competition robot, and participated many local tournaments where they competed with middle school and high school robotics teams.

After qualifing for California State Championship by winning the Excellence Award at local competition, Team 7700B earned the Design Award and Programming Champion at the California State Championship.

The team has also participated the online challenges in categories such as website design, game design animation, STEM educational video, and CAD design challenge.

All team members are actively mentoring younger/newer members at Rolling Robots and assisting in any community outreach programs involving STEM education and robotics.
