Pa's Pumpkin Patch Not Opening For Halloween 2020
The carnival-style lot, in business for more than 40 years, served as a popular family destination in the Long Beach area.

LONG BEACH, CA — Pa's Pumpkin Patch, a Halloween tradition in Long Beach for more than 40 years, will not operate its annual extravaganza this fall, due to the pandemic.
"Sorry, we will not be able to open the pumpkin patch this year due to the coronavirus," operators said.
Usually located on East Pacific Coast Highway throughout October, Pa's was a popular Halloween draw with its carnival atmosphere, a slew of gourds and pumpkins, pony rides, petting zoo, snack bar and games. The operation also was a local destination for birthday parties, school and scout groups.

And another popular pumpkin patch, Mr. Jack O'Lanterns on North Highland Avenue in Hollywood, announced this week it is reopening for 2020 — but with some changes and restrictions, along with home-delivery services.
The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, a longtime Griffith Park tradition, is switching to a drive-up format in San Dimas. And the annual, "Nights of the Jack" walk-through experience, at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas, will operate this year as a drive-thru.
As for now, Pa's is looking ahead and remaining hopeful for the holiday season.
"We hope to be able to have the Snowy Pines Christmas tree lot later this year," managers said. "We look forward to seeing you then, and, hopefully, next year at Pa's Pumpkin Patch."
