• Arson suspect arrested, brush fire extinguished in Palos Verdes Estates (dailybreeze.com) — A recent brush fire in neighboring Palos Verdes Estates was quickly contained, but it's a sharp reminder of fire risks for Rancho Palos Verdes residents living in a designated Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. Police arrested a Compton man on suspicion of arson, and officials noted that recent weed abatement and quick community reporting helped stop the blaze before homes were threatened.
