RPV Wants California To Create New Safety Net (patch.com) — Rancho Palos Verdes leaders are weighing a formal request for California to create a state-backed landslide insurance program to protect homeowners in the unstable Portuguese Bend area. After finding the city cannot legally form its own residential insurance pool, officials may ask lawmakers and the state insurance commissioner to model a new safety net on the California Earthquake Authority or FAIR Plan.
