Peninsula Education Foundation's "Main Event" Raises Funds for PVP Schools

Live from Palos Verdes… It's Saturday Night

The Peninsula Education Foundation’s (PEF) Main Event gala fundraiser will be held Saturday, May 7th at Terranea Resort. An SNL-inspired theme with a New York City night club vibe is generating excitement for this year’s event. The evening includes live and wine auctions, dinner, and of course lots of dancing. “We’re shaking it up with open seating so guests can mix and mingle, and a comedian as our emcee for the evening to keep it fun,” says event co-chair and PEF trustee Sara Robinson. “I can’t reveal more at this time, but there are many surprises in store for Main Event guests this year,” added the co-chair Catherine Lucas.

The highlight of the evening will be the infamous live auction with packages including The Who concert with seating for 12 in a Staples Center luxury suite, an exclusive family resort membership to Terranea Resort, exotic vacation destinations including Costa Rica, Hawaii, and a 10-day luxury African Safari from Micato, membership to the Portuguese Bend Beach Club, jewelry from Medawar Fine Jewelers, chef dinners and more. Main Event’s online auction, www.maineventauction.com, runs April 15th - 25th and features over 400 items and services donated by our generous local businesses and community members. Auction items are still being accepted for Main Event through April 8.

The raffle drawing for a car is always a highlight, and this year will be no exception. Lexus, a division of Toyota Motor Sales, has donated a 2016 Lexus RX350. Tickets are 1 for $50 and 3 for $125. In addition, PEF will be raffling the exclusive prize of dining for a year, once per month, at Terranea Resort. Tickets are $100 per entry. Raffle tickets can be ordered through PEF’s website www.pvpef.org or by calling their office at 310.378.2278.

This year, PEF has committed to donating $3.4 million to our local public schools. These funds help keep important programs such as music, P.E. teachers, library aides, counselors, and engineering programs for 4th-12th grade, and to fund classroom teaching positions.

PEF is grateful to have generous Main Event sponsors including: Terranea Resort, Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A/Lexus, Del Amo Fashion Center, American Airlines, Micato Safaris, American Honda Motor Company; Ferrari South Bay, Cox Communications, Freeman Company, Primary Color, VectorUSA, Continental Development, Ernst & Young, and Mattel Children’s UCLA.
