Coach Ollie Goulston's Cardinals, who lost to defending state champion Lincoln in the section finals, ended the season at 26-8. The Panthers boosted their season record to 29-2. Foothill High School of Tustin—which upset No. 3 seed Mission Viejo 46-43—will travel to Peninsula for a second-round game at 7 p.m. Thursday.
