WILMINGTON, CA – Authorities asked for public help Sunday to identify whoever gunned down 18-year-old Daniel Zuniga in Wilmington. Zuniga was shot around 11:35 a.m. Friday, in the 300 block of North Gulf Avenue, according to police. Zuniga was walking down the street when an unknown number of suspects got out of a dark-colored SUV and attacked him, police said. Zuniga was hit several times and his attacker then fled the scene in a vehicle. Zuniga was taken to a hospital, where he later died. A motive for the shooting was unknown. No suspect description was available. Anyone with information on this shooting was asked to call LAPD Harbor Division homicide Detective Cortez or Sgt. Oliva at (310) 726-7889 or (310) 726- 7886. Tipsters can also call the LAPD's 24-hour tipline at (877) 527-3247 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
