Ranchos Palos Verdes Seeking Applicants For City Committees, Commissions
The City of Rancho Palos Verdes is seeking applicants to fill open seats on various advisory boards.
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — The City of Rancho Palos Verdes is seeking applicants to fill open seats on various advisory boards.
Five city committees are looking for new members: the Civic Center Advisory Committee, Emergency Preparedness Committee, Finance Advisory Committee, Infrastructure Management Advisory Committee, and the Traffic Safety Committee.
The city's very important Planning Commission is also seeking applications. The commission makes decisions on specific private land use planning applications, like subdivision maps, variances, and conditional use permits, and reviews environmental assessments, such as Environmental Impact Reports.

The commission also makes decisions on view restoration permits and considers appeals of staff decisions on land use planning applications.
All positions are volunteer and non-paying, except for a monthly stipend of $135 for the Planning Commission. Each position is for a four-year term ending in June 2030.

Those interested in applying must submit an application to the City Clerk’s Office by 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 27.
City officials say that applicants should have a general understanding of the City and/or of the committee/commission’s functions. Applicants must also be Rancho Palos Verdes residents. General information and more about the various committees/commission is available at http://www.rpvca.gov/.
An application for appointment can be requested from the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275, via phone at (310) 544-5217 or on the city’s website at: http://www.rpvca.gov/150/Advisory-Board-Recruitment.
Interviews with the City Council are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 9, in the Community Room at the Ken Dyda Civic Center (City Hall).
Based on the number of applicants, additional interview dates and/or locations will also be selected, city officials have said. The City Clerk’s Office is expected to confirm the date and time of the interviews with applicants.
