ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, CA – Britt Huff is barely in the lead of the two other candidates, Steven Zuckerman and Robert Medawar, vying for a spot on the Rolling Hills Estates City Council. Rolling Hills Estates residents will also be voting on Measure A, the Business License Trasnparency/Tax Equity Measure. As of 4:39 a.m., all six City of Rolling Hills Estates precincts have reported – the current results are below.
Britt Huff has 34.73 percent of the vote, Steven Zuckerman has 32.32, and Robert Medawar has 32.95 percent. Measure A has 78.12 percent support.
According to the Los Angeles County Registrar, Measure M is meant to simplify the City of Rolling Hills Estates' existing business license ordinance. It would eliminate outdated classifications and updating business license tax rates to either flat rate, or 0.05% - 0.4% of gross receipts (depending on business type) generating approximately $200,000 annually, dedicated to local, unrestricted general revenue purposes, including: sheriff's patrols, 9-1-1 response, park/street maintenance, and requiring local control of all funds and annual independent audits, until ended by vote.
