Rolling Hills Fire Fighter Dies During Active Duty
After 22 years with LACoFD, Jeffrey Windle, who was last assigned to the City of Rolling Hills, died on Sunday during active-duty.

ROLLING HILLS, CA — After 22 years with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Fire Fighter Specialist Jeffrey Windle died during active duty on March 26, department officials announced.
Windle was last assigned to Fire Station 56 in the City of Rolling Hills, according to LACoFD. No cause of death was provided by the department.
"It is with great sadness the #LACoFD share the active-duty death of Brother Jeffrey Windle," the department said in a statement on Facebook. "We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the family, friends, and colleagues of Fire Fighter Specialist Windle."

Chaplains, Peer Support and Memorial Management teams are prepared to provide support to Windle's family, friends and colleagues as well as the LA CoFD team members. The department asked for the public's cooperation in respecting the privacy of Windle's family at this time.
