The Top Ten Cities in SoCal to Raise Kids; Find Out Where Rancho PV Ranks
Of course you made the list.

Rancho Palos Verdes is one of the best cities in California to raise a family. (But you knew that, right?).
So says website CreditDonkey, a credit card comparison and financial education website. It took five important variables to come up with what it considers a good place to raise kids. Those were:
- Education: The percentage of high school graduates
- Work-life balance: Average commute time
- Family-friendly: The percentage of households with children under 18
- Stable community: The percentage of people residing in the same house last year
- Cost of living: The percentage of income spent on housing
Rancho Palos Verdes came in at No. 7 on SoCal’s Top Ten.

“The local neighborhoods are extremely safe and feature gorgeous homes, many of which are valued at more than $1 million,” says CreditDonkey.
The No. 1 city to raise a family is Poway, according to CreditDonkey. Other Los Angeles County cities that made the list were Walnut (No. 9), South Pasadena (No. 3) and Manhattan Beach (No. 2).

- High school graduate or Higher: 98.1 percent
- Commute time: 31.8 minutes
- Households with children Under 18: 32.7 percent
- Residing in same home: 90 percent
- Income spent on housing: 24.5 percent
