PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA — A van with eight people on board overturned in Palos Verdes Estates, sending five people to the hospital for observation, authorities said Monday. It happened about 8:15 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Via del Monte, said Palos Verdes Estates police Corporal Dave Blitz. The woman in her 50s who was driving the passenger van told police she lost control of the van, which went 800 feet down a hill and overturned, Blitz said. Firefighters extricated five people from the van and three got out on their own, he said. Five people were taken to hospitals for observation including one with a mild concussion.
