RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Southern California Edison plans to conduct aerial inspections over hard-to-reach areas in the Palos Verdes Peninsula over the next few weeks, Rancho Palos Verdes city officials said Monday.

The inspections aim to help prevent wildfires in the region and utilize drones and helicopters to see areas that might be hard to find on-ground.

"The focus of these operations is and always will be SCE's own electrical assets, structures and right of ways that support our assets," city officials said. "These inspections are just one part of SCE's broader wildfire prevention and mitigation program focusing on keeping our communities safe. The amount of time it takes to conduct aerial inspections varies. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support."
