β’ Man sentenced to prison for throwing cinder-block pieces at federal agents during California protest (mercurynews.com) β A Paramount resident has been sentenced to 10 months in federal prison for throwing cinder-block pieces at Border Patrol agents during a 2025 protest near a Homeland Security Investigations facility in the city. Prosecutors say the incident, which injured one agent, lasted nearly three hours and ended with a plea deal that included a handwritten apology to the officer.
