Motorcyclist Killed On Angeles Crest Highway
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene near Pasadena, officials said.

PASADENA, CA – A 42-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday when he crashed into a mountainside in the Angeles National Forest near Pasadena, authorities said.
The crash was reported at about 1 p.m. in the westbound Angeles Crest (2) Highway, California Highway Patrol Officer R. Donoghue said.
The Downey resident was riding a 2007 Suzuki westbound on the Angeles Crest Highway when he lost control and hit the mountainside along the right shoulder, Donoghue said.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's name was not released pending notification of family.

Investigators had yet to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
A SigAlert at 1:05 p.m. shut down the Angeles Crest Highway in the crash area until 2:55 p.m., Donoghue said.
