Pasadena Chase Ends In Crash, Police Shooting

When a police chase ended in a crash, the driver allegedly tried to ram pursuing officers.

PASADENA, CA — A police chase in Pasadena ended in an officer-involved shooting when a pair of suspects allegedly tried to ram purising officers, authorities announced Friday morning.

The dramatic chase began Thursday night with a routine traffic stop in the 1300 block of North Raymond Avenue at about 10 p.m. However, the driver allegedly refused to stop, triggering a short pursuit northbound, according to a statement from the Pasadena Police Department. Tha's when the driver lost control of his vehicle, crashing near the Mountain View Cemetery at Raymond Avenue and Woodbury Boulevard. The car ended up facing the arriving officers, and the suspects refused to surrender, police said.

Officers ordered the driver and a passenger out of the vehicle. Instead of complying, The driver then started the vehicle and drove directly at the officers, according to the police department. One of the officers fired his weapon, but no one was hit.

Both suspects were arrested, and no injuries were reported. The ages and names of the suspects were not released.
