PASADENA, CA —A resident shot and wounded an intruder Wednesday afternoon at his home east of Pasadena — the second time in less than a week that a Los Angeles County resident fired on a would-be burglar.
The resident warned the would-be burglar that he was armed, but the intruder continued breaking into the home anyway, said Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Deputy Ed Luna. That's when the resident opened fire, hitting the suspect in the upper body, according to investigators.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 3600 block of Grayburn Road, near Rosemead Boulevard at about 3:30 p.m to respond to a burglary. However, when they arrived, they learned that shots were fired inside the home. There they found the suspect down with at least one gunshot wound, according to the sheriff's department.
