• Details Released In Perris Skydiving Crash That Killed Man From Tahiti (patch.com) — A recent skydiving accident in Perris left a 57-year-old visitor from Tahiti dead and another jumper critically injured in a field off East Ellis Avenue near I-215. Skydive Perris says three experienced friends were jumping together and may have collided in freefall, though all landed under open parachutes. The incident remains under investigation, and no update was available on the survivor’s condition. 
• Board to Set Hearing on Fire Mitigation Fees Sought from Owners of Orchards (mynewsla.com) — Riverside County officials are moving toward a July 14 hearing that could place fire mitigation charges on tax bills for several orchard and vineyard owners, including one in unincorporated Perris. The county says these properties were cleared of hazardous overgrowth at public expense after owners failed to act, and now seeks to recover more than $158,000 through tax liens unless successfully challenged.
