• County fire stations open for tours during 'Fire Prevention Week' (kesq.com) — Perris residents can tour their local Riverside County Fire Station No. 101 on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as part of Fire Prevention Week. Families can explore fire engines, meet firefighters, and learn safe ways to charge electronics under the theme "Plug in, power up, stay safe." Several other nearby stations across the county will also be open.
   

• Where To Ride in October 2026 (roadracingworld.com) — Motorcycle riders in Perris have multiple chances this October to train at SoCal Supermoto School sessions hosted at Apex Motorsports Park on several dates, including Oct. 4, 10, 12, 18, 24 and 26. The nationwide calendar highlights track days and schools across North America, but Perris stands out with recurring local supermoto classes that enthusiasts can still sign up for.
   

• Sacramento man convicted in Southern CA fraud that stole $2 million in cargo (sacbee.com) — A federal jury has convicted two men in a cargo-theft scheme that hit warehouses across Southern California, including facilities in Perris, stealing about $2 million in electronics and household goods. Prosecutors say the conspirators used legitimate trucking companies to win shipping bids, then diverted loads instead of delivering them. Sentencing is scheduled for January, with one defendant facing up to 20 years.
