1 Wounded In Stabbing In Petaluma, Police Say
Witnesses described a group of four or more people involved in an altercation. The victim later showed up at the hospital, police said.
PETALUMA, CA — An investigation was underway in Petaluma into a stabbing reported Wednesday night in a fairgrounds parking lot, the Petaluma Police Department said.
Officers first learned about the stabbing around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday when a victim turned up at Petaluma Valley Hospital suffering a single stab wound to his back.
The injury was not life-threatening, police said.

During the investigation, officers learned the male victim was stabbed in the 100 block of Fairgrounds Drive. Officers found blood and other evidence at the scene and witnesses confirmed a group of four or more people was involved in an altercation.
Witnesses told police the suspects left the area in four separate cars all described as Infiniti G35-type sedans.

"The suspect(s) have not been identified and the motive for the altercation has yet to be determined," Petaluma police Lt. Tim Lyons said Thursday morning in a news release.
