100 MPH Pursuit On Highway 101 After Cannabis Dispensary Burglary

Officers from Petaluma, Santa Rosa, the CHP and Sheriff's Department all participated in the police pursuit.

SONOMA COUNTY — Police officers are searching for suspects who got away during a police pursuit after they allegedly attempted to rob two Santa Rosa cannabis dispensaries over the weekend, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

On Sunday at 3:36 a.m., officers first received reports of a burglary alarm call at a cannabis dispensary in northwest Santa Rosa. Officers said suspects rammed the entrance of the dispensary with a car, though a second interior door prevented them from going inside.

Officers said several suspects in ski masks were seen fleeing the area in a car with no license plates.

At 3:43 a.m., officers received a second burglary alarm call at another cannabis dispensary south of the other dispensary. An officer arrived in seconds, and said he saw two men leaving the dispensary with stolen merchandise.

The men then fled in two separate cars — Infinity and Kia sedans — one of which had a smashed rear window, damage to the bumper and no license plate, said police.

A police pursuit ensured, and the two cars began driving on southbound Highway 101 at speeds over 100 miles per hour.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Department, Petaluma Police Department and California Highway Patrol assisted Santa Rosa officers in the pursuit.

Officers deployed spike strips near the highway's South Petaluma Boulevard exit, which ultimately stopped the Kia sedan. The suspect driver ran out of the vehicle, and police said they could not find them.

Santa Rosa officers said they continued to pursue the Infinity sedan southbound until it passed the Marin County line, where they turned the pursuit to CHP.
