Carmel Middle School in the Carmel Unified School District has the best teachers in the state of California, according to the rankings. With 575 total students in the school, and a student-teacher ratio of 15:1, Carmel Middle School had an A+ rating in both teachers and overall Niche grade.

The top-rated school in Sonoma County when it comes to the best teachers was Wilson Elementary School in Petaluma. With 233 total students and a student-teacher ratio of 20:1, Wilson Elementary is ranked No. 82 for Best Public Elementary School Teachers in California. Niche gave the school an A+ for its teachers and an overall grade of A.
