2 Airlifted From Scene Of Sonoma County Head-On Collision: CHP
One patient was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, the other was taken to John Muir Medical Center. Both suffered major injuries.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Two people were airlifted from the scene of a head-on collision Monday on state Highway 121 in Sonoma County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash involved three cars and happened at 9:29 a.m. just north of state Highway 37, CHP Officer Jaret Paulson said.
A 38-year-old Benicia man was driving a Toyota Rav 4 southbound on SR-121 and was trying to pass another car when he collided head-on with a 55-year-old San Francisco woman driving northbound on SR-121 in a 2016 Acura RDX, Paulson said.

Following this impact, the Acura was pushed onto the east shoulder and the Toyota collided head-on with a 43-year-old Alameda woman who was driving northbound in a 2016 Hyundai Sonata, behind the Acura.
As the Toyota hit the Hyundai, it caused the Toyota to overturn, Paulson said.

The drivers of the Toyota and the Acura both suffered major injuries and were flown by helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and John Muir Medical Center, respectively.
