4th Coronavirus Death Confirmed In Sonoma County
The death happened over the weekend, Sonoma County Public Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase said.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The fourth coronavirus-related death in Sonoma County was reported over the weekend, Sonoma County Public Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase confirmed.
The death involved a person over the age of 65, as did the three previous deaths, Mase said.
As of Tuesday, there were 314 total cases of coronavirus in the county since the outbreak began, 140 of those being active cases.

Mase mentioned that another 20 cases were reported Tuesday to the county public health department; she did not say whether those 20 cases were included in the total of 314 listed on the county's coronavirus webpage.
Thirteen percent of cases in Sonoma County have been in people 65 and older; 22 percent have been in the 50- to 64-years-old age group; 49 percent have been in the 18- to 49-years-old age group; and 15 percent have been in the 0- to 17-years-old age group.

One of Gov. Gavin Newsom's requirements for whether counties may reopen is no deaths in the last 14 days. Mase said the county has had two deaths in the last 14 days.
The public health order does help protect the most vulnerable population of those 65 and older, Mase said.
