Police Drone Finds Wanted Driver Hiding In Petaluma Creek (patch.com) โ An early-morning police pursuit from Rohnert Park ended in Petaluma when a wanted parolee crashed near the East Washington Avenue exit and fled on foot, leaving two passengers behind. With help from a sheriff's drone, officers found him hiding in a nearby creek, recovered a firearm and ammunition from the car, and booked him into Sonoma County Jail on multiple felony-related charges.

Sonoma County Library Buys $12.78 Million Petaluma Office Building for New Headquarters (ksro.com) โ Petaluma will soon host the Sonoma County Library system's new 72,000โsquareโfoot headquarters on North McDowell Boulevard, bringing about 96 employees into town. Renovations begin in early 2027, with staff expected to move in by October 2027, a shift local business leaders say will help fill office vacancies and strengthen the city's government presence.

3. Sonoma nonprofit to host Sept. 22 fundraiser for victims of Nepal floods (sonomanews.com) โ A Sept. 22 Sonoma fundraiser will bring together local restaurants, including Everest Indian Restaurant from Petaluma, to support relief efforts after devastating floods in Nepal. Hosted by the Himalayan Sherpa Club of Sonoma, the free event at Sonoma Veterans Memorial Hall invites donations of any size, with all proceeds going to Nepal's Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to aid affected families.

4. New Route 40X bus service, connecting Sonoma Valley to SMART, now running (sonomanews.com) โ Petaluma riders now have a more reliable link to Sonoma Valley thanks to the new Route 40X bus, which is timed to connect with SMART trains at the downtown station and Transit Mall. The commuterโfocused route runs weekday mornings and evenings, offering synchronized transfers, low fares, and better access to jobs, schools, and regional destinations along Highway 101.
