(sonomacity.org) — Petaluma riders now have clearer options for reaching and using SMART trains, with Route 40X buses linking Sonoma Valley directly to the Petaluma Transit Mall and Downtown SMART station. From there, you can head north toward Santa Rosa and Windsor or south through Marin to San Francisco, mixing buses, trains, ferries, bikes, and cars to build flexible regional trips.
2. Amy's Kitchen closing Bay Area plant, shifting hundreds of jobs to Idaho and Oregon (mercurynews.com) — Amy's Kitchen will keep its corporate headquarters in downtown Petaluma even as it closes its Santa Rosa manufacturing plant and shifts hundreds of jobs to Oregon and Idaho. The move highlights mounting challenges for large Sonoma County food producers and follows earlier Amy's layoffs affecting workers in both Santa Rosa and Petaluma, while local officials pledge new job‑placement support.
3. Brandy Clark to Release THE BIRD Album January 15; TAKE FLIGHT WORLD TOUR 2027 (broadwayworld.com) — Brandy Clark is bringing her Take Flight World Tour to Petaluma's Mystic Theatre on January 29, giving local fans a chance to hear songs from her upcoming album "the bird" live. The Grammy-winning songwriter's tour stop is part of a West Coast run that also includes Los Angeles, Monterey, Felton, and Berkeley before heading north and across the country.
4. SATURDAY FOOTBALL — Hoopa and Arcata lose on a tough day for HDN teams (humboldtsports.com) — High school football fans in Petaluma saw St. Vincent de Paul dominate visiting Arcata 47-0, improving the home team's record to 3-1. The shutout marked Arcata's third straight scoreless loss, while other Humboldt-Del Norte League teams had mixed results across California and even as far as Michigan this weekend.
