Apparent Murder-Suicide Investigated In Petaluma: Police

Two bodies were discovered in a home Thursday afternoon, police said.

PETALUMA, CA — A man and a woman were found dead Thursday in a Petaluma home in what police said appeared to be a murder-suicide. According to the Petaluma Police Department, officers responded at 4 p.m. Thursday to a report of two dead bodies inside a home in the 800 block of Echo Court, a cul-de-sac on the city's east side.

Police said officers confirmed the report, finding the two adults dead of apparent gunshot wounds in the residence off Crinella Drive and S. McDowell Boulevard.

"At that time there did not appear to be any outstanding subjects and there was no threat to the surrounding neighborhood," police said.

Detectives responded and determined the deaths appeared to be a murder-suicide.

"We are working with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office to identify the involved subjects and confirm their relationship," police said late Thursday.
