Arson Arrest Made In Vegetation Fire Near Petaluma: Cal Fire

PETALUMA, CA — A North Bay man was jailed in connection with a vegetation fire Tuesday near Petaluma, according to Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit.

Upon completion of an investigation by Cal Fire law enforcement, Jaime Pineda, 27, was arrested in relation to the Lake Fire, a small, 20- to 40-foot vegetation fire that was extinguished around 11 a.m. Tuesday near Petaluma Boulevard South, a Cal Fire spokesperson said.

Pineda was booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of felony arson and his bail was set at $200,000, Cal Fire said.

Pineda remained in custody Thursday, jail records showed.

The case was under review by the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office.
