Marc Till Schmid is a Bay Area Artist of many years. Born in Hollywood
in 1949, he grew up in an artistic atmosphere, with all of his primary
caregivers being artists of various stripes. As a child he lived in
Mexico and Spain.

Marc studied at the Oakland College of Arts and Crafts and performed
apprenticeships with an array of fine artists, and illustrators from
around the world. He has survived as a freelance artist all his life.

In 2015 Marc began a series of Scratchboard art pieces in his own style
of Dia de los Muertos with a Dream perspective. These pieces have
captured his connection to those who have passed . Also some are
Fantasy related , Snow White , Mermaid etc. Thus the Dream
reflections... Some pieces are colored, adding mood and whimsy to the
theme. But most are white and black...these stand like strange
messenger ghosts. Fairy tale figures are transformed into their alter
egos with each line in the scratchboard. These grow into the Dreams of
the Dead...
