Be a Host Family for an Exchange Student in Petaluma!

Dear Community Member,

As an active community member, you have the chance to bring international perspective to your town while giving a young student a life-changing experience. Host an international exchange student for the 2015-16 school year through CIEE’s USA High School and USA High School Plus programs.

By opening your home, you make it possible for members of our community to meet, interact, and learn from someone from a different culture. Exchange students bring new perspectives that can open minds, creating opportunities for engagement and understanding that strengthen schools and communities alike. Many host families find they develop a relationship that lasts a lifetime with the student they host.

Each year, CIEE: Council on International Educational Exchange partners with hundreds of families like yours to bring these bright students from every corner of the world to the U.S. From the time a student applies to his or her return trip home, our staff is available to students, host families, and schools 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and through every step of the process. We offer:

• Reliable expertise. With 65 years of experience, you can count on us to match your family with the right student from our pool of applicants.
• Local support. As your local coordinator, I live right here in your community, so you always have someone to turn to for immediate guidance.
• Peace of mind. All CIEE students have full travel insurance that covers them in case of an emergency or medical need, to give you confidence and eliminate hassles.

We’re looking for host families in the Petaluma and Novato areas for our students arriving in August. These students have chosen to step outside their comfort zones to be part of new families, schools, and communities.
