Petaluma Urban Chat invites the community to take part in the next step of The Vacancy Project—an initiative focused on understanding and addressing vacant buildings and lots in downtown Petaluma.
Recently launched, the project includes an interactive Vacancy Map identifying over 40 empty properties within a half-mile of downtown. These vacancies represent more than unused space—they reflect lost housing opportunities, reduced city revenue, and missed potential for a more vibrant downtown.
This organizing meeting will bring together community members, property owners, and local leaders to begin shaping priorities and identifying practical next steps. Together, we’ll explore how to move from data to action—turning empty spaces into thriving places.
