A Call To Petaluma's Planning Enthusiasts, Skaters, And Poets

Petaluma officials and poets want you to pay attention to two city plans and a poetry call.

PETALUMA, CA — Petaluma is calling on city planning enthusiasts, skaters, and local river city bards to tune into invitations asking for public feedback on next year’s transportation budget, while the city advances the Lucchesi Skatepark project and new public art, and a call to poets for an Ode to Petaluma.

Transit under riders' microscope

A Transit Advisory Committee workshop is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, where planners will review the upcoming budget outlook and discuss possible service changes affecting transit riders, students, workers, older adults, neighbors, and anyone who relies on — or hopes to rely on — Petaluma Transit. Officials say fluctuating funding and rising costs require careful evaluation of what is working, where improvements are needed, and how service can best meet community needs. Those unable to attend may submit comments by email to soefinger@cityofpetaluma.org. Meeting details and the agenda are available at cityofpetaluma.org/meetings, with additional transit information at cityofpetaluma.org/transitupdates. City Hall Council Chambers, 11 English St.

California-based artists ages 16 and older may apply, with submissions due by 5 p.m. Jan. 31. Details are available at cityofpetaluma.org/skateparkartRFP.
