Car Catches Fire At U.S. 101 Onramp In Petaluma
The vehicle fire at a freeway onramp was producing heavy black smoke, according to the CHP.

PETALUMA, CA — A car caught fire early Monday evening on a Petaluma freeway onramp, complicating the evening commute. According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle fire was reported at the Penngrove onramp to southbound U.S. Highway 101.
Heavy black smoke was coming from the fire reported at 5:29 p.m. Monday just south of Petaluma Boulevard North, the CHP said.
Those riding in the car when it caught fire appeared to be out of the vehicle and standing a safe distance away, the CHP reported.

Multiple drivers pulled over in an attempt to help with the situation, according to the CHP.

Another car fire was reported about 30 minutes earlier on northbound Lakeville Highway just north of SR-37.
