PETALUMA, CA — There appeared to be a upsurge of interest in live and cut-your-own Christmas trees this year as many a North Bay family flocked to Christmas tree farms the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

At Pronzini Farms, 3795 Adode Road in Petaluma, visitors were able to use a saw to pluck their perfect tree from a hillside. Meanwhile, others picked from an array of already-cut trees inside a newly built barn.

Little Hills Christmas Tree Farm was another choice at 961 Chapman Lane in Petaluma.
