To enable voters to hear all 2nd District Supervisor candidates and question them about important issues before the June 2 Primary election, Penngrove Cares is hosting a candidate forum on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:00 pm at Penngrove Community Clubhouse, 385 Woodward Ave., Penngrove. 
The four candidates for the 2nd District Supervisor are John King, Sylvia Lemus, Shelina Moreda, and Joanna Paun.
The event format consists of the candidates making timed opening and closing statements and answering questions submitted by the Penngrove community and the audience. Note: the event will be in-person only.
District 2 includes the cities of Petaluma and Cotati, a portion of Rohnert Park, and the unincorporated communities of Penngrove, Two Rock, and Bloomfield, as well as a portion of the unincorporated community south of Sebastopol.
The event is organized by Penngrove Cares, a community forum for issues affecting the Penngrove area.

In times that can feel uncertain or isolating, even small gestures of connection—a postcard, a call, a simple message saying “I’m thinking of you”—can remind us that we are not alone. Postcards is built around that spirit of reaching out. Each piece in the program serves as a musical postcard: a snapshot from a particular time and place, carrying stories of joy, longing, hope, and reflection.
Some of these musical postcards arrive bright and sun-drenched; others carry the weathered edges of memory. Together they form a collection of moments that remind us our lives are measured not only in years, but in the experiences that stay with us and the ones we share with others.
Through song, the choir becomes both sender and recipient—offering voices as messages of care, presence, and connection. Postcards is a reminder that even in difficult times, music can help us reach across distance and say something simple and powerful: you matter, you are connected, and you are not alone.
Join the Occidental Community Choir this spring for an evening of music that carries stories, memories, and hope into a weary and waiting world.
