Congratulations to Lily's Legacy Senior Dog Sanctuary in Petaluma

Lily's Legacy Senior Dog Sanctuary has been awarded over $13,000 by the "100 Sonoma People Who Care" at their inaugural event this week.

The inaugural “100 Sonoma People Who Care” event was this past Tuesday, February 23rd at the Petaluma Woman’s Club on B Street. The event brought over 130 people from the community to this inaugural event.

The packed house heard from 5 local non-profit organization discussing their impact on the residents of Petaluma - canines included. Each person brought $100 to contribute to the cause and was given a ballot to choose the winning non-profit.

Vying for the advertised $10,000 grand prize were worthy causes: Giants Steps Therapeutic Riding Center, Petaluma Wildlife Museum, Daily Acts, Petaluma People Services Center’s Senior Day Program, and Lily’s Legacy Senior Dog Rescue. Thanks to the generosity of the community, in attendance and sponsorship, the grand prize was increased to over $13,000 - and was awarded to Lily’s Legacy. Each of the runners up received $500 as a thank you for participating.
