Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In Petaluma
The fatal collision happened on South McDowell Boulevard south of Berrydale Drive.
PETALUMA, CA — A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday in Petaluma was identified by the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office as Nicholas Duran, a 23-year-old Petaluma man.
The crash was reported at 5:51 a.m. Saturday on South McDowell Boulevard, just north of Baywood Drive and south of Berrydale Drive. Personnel with the Petaluma police and fire departments arrived within minutes, police Sgt. Walt Spiller said.
Apparently, Spiller said, a driver was traveling northbound on S. McDowell Blvd. when their car collided with a pedestrian who appeared to have been in the roadway.

Duran was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Petaluma PD Traffic Team responded and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
