Costume Swap, Guitar Music and U2 and Tom Petty Cover Bands

It's Thursday, which means it's time to start planning your weekend. Check out some highlights

Fan of Tom Petty or U2? Then you won’t want to miss Friday night’s concert at the Mystic when two tribute bands—Petty Theft and Zoo Station—play the hits that will make you remember the good old days, whether that was in high school, college or just when you were a bit younger. Tickets are $16 in advance or $21 at the door.

Everyone knows that you can’t wear the same Halloween costume two years in a row, but who has the money to buy a new one each year? Good thing there’s Green Halloween, an event where you can swap gently used costumes with fellow Petalumans. Come to the Petaluma Farmers Market this Saturday and look for the Green Halloween table from 2-5pm. Costume exchange is for both children and adults.

Calling all fans of guitar music and tapas. You don’t have to drive to the city or even Santa Rosa for some classy entertainment. Just head to Vine and Barrel on the boulevard to hear Steve Kaufman, a three-time National Guitar Champion and flatpik guitarist. Saturday 7:30pm. .

If you’re into theater, check out Cinnabar’s latest offering, , a Pulitzer Prize winning play about a troubled family escaping their past to seize the future. The play is heartfelt and irreverent and teems with humanity and humor as it examines the plight of three Mississippi sisters betrayed by their passions. Friday-Sunday. Tickets $15-25.
