County Coroner IDs Man Found Dead In Overturned Vehicle on Hwy 101
The victim was found last week in a Pinto wagon.

The Sonoma County coroner’s office has identified a man who was found dead in his vehicle near Asti last Tuesday night as 51-year-old Carl Leo Minns.
Minns, an Oakland resident, was driving a 1973 Ford Pinto wagon on northbound U.S. Highway 101 north of Asti Road when it overturned off of the right shoulder and went down an embankment, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Ross Ingels said.

Two CHP officers who were investigating a separate non-injury crash on the highway were notified by a passerby about the Pinto crash around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday.
The car came to rest on its right side against a tree and Minns was found trapped inside.

Cloverdale firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene, Ingels said.
CHP Officer Jon Sloat said prescription pill bottles were found in the vehicle. The cause of Minns’ death is pending toxicology tests.
