David A. Chappell, MD, Offers Endocrinology Concierge Care to Petaluma-Area Patients
New practice offering focuses on specialized and personalized care, with more time to concentrate on multiple, complex endocrine conditions

Petaluma, CA (March 11, 2015) –David A. Chappell, MD, is introducing a concierge care offering focused solely on endocrine medicine, beginning April 1, 2015. A board-certified endocrinologist since 1985 who has practiced in Petaluma for 16 years, Dr. Chappell will offer patients specialized and personalized care, with more time to concentrate on multiple, complex endocrine conditions.
“This new practice offering enables me to comprehensively address and prevent complications specific to patients with endocrine issues,” says Dr. Chappell. “They will receive all the benefits of concierge medicine – personalized care, longer visits, same or next-day appointments – in a highly specialized environment. Treating diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, osteoporosis, thyroid and other problems associated with endocrine disorders, requires time and sophisticated resources…and in my new practice, I will be able to offer both.”
Ongoing control of diabetes will include advanced, non-invasive testing to identify cardiovascular risk, body fat composition analysis, expert guidance on use of insulin pumps, glucose monitoring sensors and other technologies, consultations and seminars with dietitians and physical therapists, and development of a chronic care portfolio to enhance communication among all medical providers. Management of thyroid, cholesterol, triglyceride, calcium and bone health, gonadal and pituitary disorders will be an integral part of patient care at Dr. Chappell’s new practice.

“The opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of my patients’ metabolic issues and apply the latest diagnostics and treatment advances is truly extraordinary,” says Chappell, “and creates a significant, positive impact on overall health and wellness.”
Earlier this year, Dr. Chappell transitioned his internal medicine practice to the personalized care model. “The medical landscape has changed, and doctors are increasingly rewarded for speed and technology, not looking, listening and thinking compassionately. My new practice will give me more time to spend with my patients and care for them without limitations. This is how medicine used to be practiced, and the way I believe it still should be,” he says.

Physicians across the country are establishing concierge medicine practices in order to return the physician-patient relationship to the forefront of their medical care, according to Specialdocs Consultants, Inc., a national health care consulting firm assisting Dr. Chappell. Reducing the number of patients in their practice allows physicians to offer longer appointments, on the same or next day, personal and timely contact after hours and on weekends, with direct access to their physician’s personal cell phone and email. “More time to spend with patients is the number one reason our doctors transition to concierge medicine,” says Roberta Greenspan, President, Specialdocs.
