Ask the Expert: Camilla Gray-Nelson Answers Your Doggy Dilemmas
The owner of Dairydell Canine and author of the recently published "Lipstick and the Leash: Dog Training a Women's Way" wants to help you teach your dog good behavior.
Camilla Gray-Nelson, owner of training and boarding center in Petaluma is going to need bigger business cards. With the recent publication of her first book “Lipstick and the Leash: Dog Training a Woman’s Way” she is becoming the “Dog Talk Diva,” a media celebrity on the topic of taming the family dog.
What started with a little milk barn off Adobe Road has grown to encompass an 11,000 square foot boarding barn, a 25,000 square foot covered sports arena and another 20,00 square foot training and exercise arena.
Dairydell is state-of-the-art and priced accordingly with overnight stays in private suites running $55 per dog and four-week training packages running as much as $3,500. She believes that as much as other family members may love their dog, at the end of the day, the training falls to the lady who runs the home.

Indeed, nearly 75 percent of all U.S. dog-owning households leave primary dog care responsibilities to the woman of the house, yet many of them end up feeling powerless, frustrated and defeated. That's why Gray-Nelson is hitting the road on book tour and appearing at a free signing at on Saturday March 17 from 10 a.m. to 12:30.
Gray-Nelson says her leadership lessons will not only help tame terriers, but also give readers valuable lessons for becoming more effective in other areas of their lives. And she has graciously agreed to take questions from Petaluma Patch readers through March 10.
