Double Traffic Fatality Reported This Afternoon On River Road

Two people were reported killed in a head-on crash between a small pickup truck and a sedan on River Road in Sonoma County this afternoon, a Sonoma County Fire and Emergency dispatcher said.

The dispatcher said two people were killed in the collision at 2:32 p.m. near the Martinelli Winery and Vineyards located at 3360 River Road west of Santa Rosa, the dispatcher said.

The California Highway Patrol is on scene, and reports that River Road between Laughlin and Olivet roads will be closed for an unknown duration. Motorist are asked to avoid this area.
