SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified two drivers who died in a collision west of Petaluma on Sunday morning as Patricia Harris, 61, and John Mello, 64, both of Petaluma.
Harris was driving a Ford van on Bodega Avenue around 10:25 a.m. Sunday when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with a GMC pickup driven by Mello, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Allan Capurro said.
One of two dogs that were riding in the van was killed in the collision.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision and there were no signs of excessive speeding or erratic driving, Capurro said.
